Candy Cane Fudge

Standard

2 (10oz) packages vanilla baking chips

1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1/2 tsp. peppermint extract

1 1/2 c. crushed candy canes

1 dash red or green food coloring

Line an 8 inch square baking pan with aluminium foil and grease the foil.  Combine vanilla chips and sweetened condensed milk in sauce pan over medium heat.  Stir frequently until almost melted; remove from heat and continue to stir until smooth.  When chips are completely melted, stir in extract, coloring and candy canes. Spread evenly in bottom of prepared pan.  Chill for 2 hours, then cut into squares.

A Camera In The Kitchen

Standard
One of my favorite things to do this time of year is spend time in the kitchen. Saturday, I had time to do just that.  Savannah was asleep, so I thought I would get a few of my Christmas goodies scratched off my, what seems to be, ever growing list! It was a fun few hours and both my treats turned out yummy! The first thing I made was pretzels with a peppermint kiss and an M&M:

The second Christmas goodie I made was candy cane fudge.  We had recently had some candy cane fudge while visiting Santa at the Santa Claus house in North Pole, AK (yes, there really is a place called the North Pole…however, it is about 15 minutes SOUTH of Fairbanks! 🙂 I was pleased with how it turned out! Yummy!

Hope you all get to enjoy some yummy Christmas goodies, too!
